The case of falling bodies project

This session concerns discussion and role-play based on a film. No more than 20-25 people should participate in one session. The duration of the session is about 3 hours. Show the short film about Galileo (that takes about 20 minutes).

The participants make groups of five and work on the first part of the work sheet. They discuss and answer the first three questions. When all groups finish a discussion takes place and the groups present their ideas concerning the first three questions.

Then the groups are given the second part of the work sheet and they are asked to prepare two role plays (one about Galileo and his pupil experimenting and the other about the two astronauts on the moon). Then they watch the film once more in order to collect ideas and information for the role-plays. They write, direct their short plays.

Finally each group presents the role plays in front of all and a discussion concerning this two events and the free fall takes place.
